Child Safety Standards
Dareo is published by Fibroweb. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to everything on Dareo: answers, photos, videos, messages, usernames, bios, profile pictures and dare links. They complete our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.
1. Zero tolerance
- Any content, behavior or request that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a minor is strictly forbidden: sexual content involving minors, grooming, sextortion, requests for images, attempts to move a minor to another app or to meet in person.
- No sexual content is allowed on Dareo at all, whatever the age of the players.
- Accounts involved in CSAE are permanently banned, and the content is preserved only as long as needed to report it.
2. Protections built into the app
- Age gate: the minimum age is 13. The date of birth is asked once and cannot be changed afterwards.
- Separated age groups: players under 18 can only be matched and chat with other players under 18, and adults only with adults.
- Playing with new players requires a saved account and is reserved for users 16 and up.
- Chat only unlocks after a finished match, and messages containing phone numbers, links or social handles are blocked.
- Photos and videos are taken with the in-app camera only (no gallery), are visible only to the opponent of the match, are blurred on arrival and are deleted automatically (30 days for photos, 7 days for videos).
- Profiles of minors are not public.
3. Reporting
- Every profile, every chat message (long press) and every match has a Report button, including a "Seems younger than 13" reason. Every player can also block another player at any time.
- Reports are sent to our moderation team and reviewed. Accounts that receive several reports from players who actually played with them are suspended automatically until review.
- You can also contact our child safety point of contact directly at contact@getdareo.com, subject "Child safety".
4. What we do
- We remove reported CSAE content and suspend or ban the accounts involved.
- We report child sexual abuse material and child exploitation to the competent authorities, including the French national reporting platform (PHAROS) and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and we cooperate with law enforcement requests in accordance with the law.
- We comply with applicable child safety laws in the countries where Dareo is available.
